 The beautiful bark-covered hotel was built in 1923 by timber baron Amos Frye, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Brown family — owners since 1982 — have lovingly preserved Frye's mountain getaway, maintaining the same rustic charm that's attracted guests to the mountain retreat for generations.
 In the Fryemont's spacious
lobby you'll find a huge
stone fireplace, large
enough to burn eight-foot
logs — an ideal setting for
mingling with old and new
friends, playing games, watching the
game in the TV corner, or just relaxing after a day in the outdoors.
 Help yourself to a cup of coffee and take it through the French doors that lead to the rocking chair porch with its view of the Smoky Mountains. From the porch you can also glimpse the swimming pool nestled in a grove of hemlock, dogwood and poplar.
